I was an infant scant years after World War I, and am familiar with the impact as if I were there on a battlefield in France. I live now in Florida where I never need a sweater, but I am a Seattle girl, and in September there is a heart-tugging ‘autumn in the air’ that carries with every breath a sense of longing. I get nostalgic because my baby girl was born over there across the Cascade Mountains on September 17. You will meet her here and feel the glow that she passed on to her two girls. We talk.

Having recently moved to Florida from my Seattle birthplace, I’m finding that change didn’t entirely satisfy my lust for adventure (but don’t worry, Grandma, we won’t move again!). I’m eager to explore and try new things, chasing each new adventure with all the conviction and voracity of a child chasing the ice cream truck. As Mom says, “Life is good!”
What a team of writers you make out there! Very rare encounter for a self-made writer like me. Very encouraging.
